If you look at the diagrams, they are virtually identical, the only difference that in 8th and 9th gen 6MTs, the open diff and main gear are sold as one unit, whereas with the Acura they are sold separately. My view of reliability is to do the maintenance minder items and just put gas in it and go. I don't think that the 9th gen will be as reliable of some Hondas/Acuras of the past. If build quality is any indication of reliability, Honda has room for improvement. .
